Gut Friendly Low Effort Smoothie

How would you like to start a day with this easy gut-friendly smoothie?

I bet you have all the ingredients already, I’m only using pantry staples here (see notes below if you want to skip protein).

Why try this smoothie?

It’s packed with friendly low effort fruit and veggies and seeds that contain fibre – both soluble and insoluble. It means that a) you’ll be full for longer, b) that the food will travel smoothly through the digestive tract, helping with or avoiding any constipation episodes. Yep, fibre is pretty amazing.

If you want to skip the protein powder, you can replace it with 2 tbsp of hemp seeds, some raw cacao powder and 1 date. That should do the trick taste-wise, while still keeping a good protein profile.

Ingredients

1/2 crispy apple, with skin

1/2 zucchini (fresh or frozen, 1 cup chopped)

a handful of fresh or frozen spinach

3-4 nuts (I used walnuts and cashews)

1 tbsp chia seeds

1/2 tbsp pumpkin seeds

1 serving of chocolate protein powder (I used @vivolife

1 1/4 cup of cold water and plant milk mix

optional: cinnamon, a date for extra sweetness or a spoon of cacao powder for extra choc flavour

Method

Blend it all up and enjoy immediately. If you want it cooler and thicker, add some ice or/and decrease the liquid ratio. Eat and bloom!
