Salted Chocolate Cinnamon Balls

I love a good treat and this date and chocolate combo is one of those that I go back over and over again! These decadent and speedy salted chocolate balls are perfect for an afternoon snack during the workweek or to add to kids school lunch. Packed with healthy fats and protein, with a perfect sweet and salty taste.

Enjoy immediately or keep in the fridge or freezer for later.

Serves (makes around 15, depending on the size you choose)

Ingredients

1 cup of medjool dates

1/2 cup of roasted almonds or walnuts

1/4 cup peanut butter (or any nut butter)

1/4 cup flaxseed

3 1/2 tbsp raw cacao powder

1- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt (for that sweet-salty flavour)

Method

If you use raw nuts, roast them first at 180C for 15 minutes. Let them cool well. Put the nuts into a food processor and pulse a few times. Next, add the dates and the rest of the ingredients. Taste, and add more salt or cinnamon if needed. Take 1 tbsp of the mix and form balls. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze and enjoy right out of the freezer for a quick snack.
