REFRESHING KALE PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE
deliciously refreshing smoothie, with sweet and tangy flavors is here!
Pineapple and kale are a fabulous combo here and cucumber adds a great refreshing taste and ‘softens’ the flavors a bit. The fruit and veg in this smoothie will give you a couple of portions of your 5 a day and a great start to the day!
As you know I love my superfoods and sneaking in extra nutrition into smoothies, so hemp seeds and brazil nuts are a great addition here:
- protein for energy and muscles
- Omega 3 for healthy brain and glowing skin
- healthy fats
- antioxidants to fight free radicals
- selenium for cognitive functions, thyroid support and immunity.
Ingredients
1.5 cups fresh kale
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/2 medium cucumber, roughly chopped
large squeeze of fresh lemon juice
2 heaped tbsp hemp seeds
2 brazil nuts
1/2 cup cold water
1/4-1/2 cup almond milk (other plant based milk)
Optional: add 1 scoop of Amazing Grass, for extra superpowers.
Method
Simply add all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. You’re aiming for a lovely, vibrant green color! Adjust the liquid amount to your liking and add more/less lemon juice for more/ less zesty taste. Enjoy the goodness!
