HOW TO BE MORE FEARLESS AND WHY

When was the last time you did something that scares you? Terrifies you? Kicks you out of your comfort zone that you can even no longer see it? ⁣

I bet your answer is ‘I can’t remember’! And guess what, I was like that also.

How to Become More Fearless

I did it yesterday – found the courage to step outside of my comfort zone. Big time. I challenged myself with something perhaps not significant for others, but for me it was a big deal. My palms sweated, my heart raced. What’s more important, my mind was telling me: ‘No! Stop, you silly! What will everyone think? What will everyone say? Imagine how silly you’ll look to them! Just don’t do it..’.

The more I thought of it, the less I indeed wanted to do it. Felt more paralyzed. Stuck. Helpless. And I’m not talking about just that moment yesterday, but rather the feeling that was present over the last months.

But, yesterday something changed. Something clicked and I just feel the script should be very different and I needed to say to myself: ‘You know what, screw it, now or never!’. So I literally shoooshed that voiced in my head, and took the leap. No thinking, no stopping. It was like with running on a cold day – you find all the excuses in the world before you head outside. But as soon as you have your running shoes on, something switches – you’re in, you’re committed, you’re doing it.

And you know what happened? Nothing. I mean: nothing of what my mind told me it would. It felt amazing, actually. That fear and picture of it my mind has been painting for all those months was completely off. The reality was almost complete opposite of what my fear was telling me. And the best part was that I felt this huge relief and positive energy after I tackled my fear. ‘I broke through! I challenged my mind, and it feels right! I don’t need to believe anything it says anymore!’ (well, time will tell, haha). ⠀⠀⠀⠀

Why you should try beating your fears?

Beating fears brings empowerment. It comes with amazing feelings of owning that thing you’re challenging and being bigger than what’s your mind tells you. Because you are bigger than what your mind tells you. Don’t you ever believe otherwise. ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So here’s to challenge you!

What is 1 thing you can do today that feels uncomfortable and you’re terrified of? ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Is it asking for something? ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Saying no?⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That 1 action you always talk about but don’t do? ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Or taking control of your plate and push back your urges? ⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Setting an super ambitious goal and going after what you want?⁣⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whatever that thing is, do it today. The main thing is not to overthink it, as then you allow your inner fearful voice to come up with a gazillion excuses that are designed to stop you. Don’t trust them, don’t engage with them. I’ve been there!

No more ‘what if’s’. Screw it, action now and feel the difference.
