Creamy Carrot Turmeric Smoothie

Warming, yet cooling!

Try this new flavour combo of carrot and ginger with a sweetness of banana and creaminess of cauliflower. I love veggies in smoothies. If you still believe that cauliflower belongs only on a roasting tray, check again! It’s a wonderful powerful vegetable that boosts your daily diet with antioxidants and essential minerals and makes a great satisfying start to the day.

Ingredients

1/2 cup frozen or fresh (gently boiled and cooled) cauliflower

1/2 frozen banana

1 medium carrot

1 portion of protein powder of choice (vanilla recommended) (optional)

fresh turmeric, thumb-size (or 1 tsp ground turmeric or 1 tablet of curcumin)

fresh ginger, thumb size

pinch of black pepper

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp hemp seeds

1-1 1/2 cup plant-based milk and/or water (mix in the desired ratio; I usually use water with a bit of plant milk)

Method

Blend it all in a high-speed blender. For the liquid, use the amount you desire – I find that around 1 1/4 cup is a great amount, but you may want more or less depending on the consistency of the smoothie you would like. Eat and bloom!
