Natural Immunity Booster and Cold Remedy

NATURAL IMMUNITY BOOSTER & COLD REMEDY

THIS IS MY GO-TO IMMUNITY BOOSTER / COLD SYRUP

HOW AND WHEN?

I make a batch of it regularly throughout the winter. Depending on how many people take it, it may last for a week or a few. Best to keep in the fridge in a handly bottle or a jar (I like a little glass bottle, as it’s easy to pour from – you don’t want to double dip the spoon!). Take 2 tablespoons as prevention; you might want to take this dose twice a day if you have a cold. It is ok for toddlers/ older kids to take, but it is quite a strong taste so I recommend it mixing it with warm water.

And as for the taste: I’m not going to lie to you – it isn’t the tastiest thing you’ve ever had, but it’s not terrible. Give it a go, it’s worth it!

Ingredients

  • 1 bulb garlic, peeled⁣
  • 1 medium fresh white onion, roughly chopped⁣
  • juice of 1 large lemon⁣
  • 2.5 – 3 tbsp of raw honey ⁣
  • boiled, cooled water (~ 1.5 cups)⁣
Method

Put all ingredients into a blender and blitz nicely until all combined. Pour it into a jar and leave to rest for 2 says, somewhere cool and dark (kitchen cupboard or corner of kitchen counter will do).

After that time strain it and store in a jar or a glass bottle, in the fridge. Take 1-2 tbsp each day. You can mix it with some water if you find the taste too much. I don’t recommend it on an empty stomach as the mixture is quite strong and may feel burning on your stomach. ⁣

⁣WHY TO TAKE THIS IMMUNITY BOOSTER?

This mix is made of some potent antibacterial ingredients (garlic, onion), is high in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Garlic is thought to be a natural antibiotic AND has great anti-fungal properties 🤓

You can take this all year round, especially during colder seasons. ⁣

To change things up a bit, you can add some turmeric (~2 tsp) with extra honey and some black pepper. It will add vibrant color, different taste, and some great anti-inflammatory benefits!
